Summery Nails

Now that the weather is finally getting warmer my nail varnish picks seem to be getting a bit brighter. I wouldn't normally be one for using a seasonal colour, I normally just pick whatever colour I fancy (I mean who ever said that you can't wear a plum colour in the summer?) but this year the pastel bug seems to have hit me!

Most of the polishes I have been loving are from Essie, who just seem to be killing it with their colours at the moment, plus you know that the formula is always going to be good and long-lasting. My favourite recently has been Cute As A Button which is a beautiful bright coral, I've been using on my fingernails lots but it is also a colour that looks great on toenails.

I've also been loving the bright corn flour-blue of Bikini So Teeny. It's much more of a  pastel colour but very much on the brighter side of pastel, with a slight shimmer running through, and it makes the skin on my hands look fantastic!

I've also been wearing Maximillian Strasse Her lots, which is very strange colour, but very very wearable. It's a muted grey, not quite pale enough to be a pastel, but with a slightly green note running through, sounds strange but it looks beautiful on the nails.

The last Essie shade I've been wearing is Pink Diamond which reminds me of silk. Its a nice bright pink with a pearlescent sheen running through. Another unusual colour but it looks really lovely on, and I can imagine it would look even better with a bit of a tan!

To break it up from all the Essie, I've also been wearing the Barry M Gel Nail Paint in 12 Green Berry. This is a colour I would describe as neon-pastel, it's like a neon toned mint if that makes any sense at all! This is another colour where I can only imagine it looking even better with a tan.
