Bedside Beauty Products

L-R: Steamcream, L'Occitane Shea Butter Hnad Cream, Blistex Medplus Cherry Berry, Gelish Nourish Cuticle Oil

I like to keep a small selection of beauty products beside my bed with the idea that using these will be the last thing that I do at night. Over the years I've narrowed it down to a selection of effective products that are also very relaxing to use.

First up we have have a good old trusty tub of Steamcream. As this is a multi-purpose cream, I keep to on hand for any dry skin that needs a drop of moisture. One of the things I am worst at is moisturising my neck when moisturising my face, and so having this by my bed it means I can always moisturise my neck as well as any other area in need. Plus the soft lavender scent is very relaxing last thing at night.

Next I like to apply a lip balm, and for the last few months my night-time lip balm of choice has been the Blistex Medplus Cherry Berry. I actually picked this up in the winter when the edges of my lips get very dry and need lots of looking after, the Medplus part of the name drew me in thinking it might solve the problem for me, and that it did! I've been using it ever since as it is very moisturising and soothing as well as keeping my lips free from flakes and chaps.

Moving on to my hands, and I've been trying to take care of my nails more recently as I am beginning to feel that constant nail varnish wear is taking it's toll. Because of this, I've been using a cuticle oil at night. I've been using the Gelish Nourish Cuticle Oil which I actually got as a part of my Gelish Starter Kit when I was playing with doing my own gel nails (more on that another time). This is just a mini but it seems to last and last, and my nails are feeling much stronger since I started using it.

Last but not least, and this has to be last if I want to open any of my other products, is my very favourite hand cream, the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. I picked my first tube up last year in Duty Free on my way back from Copenhagen (trying to use up some currency, you know the drill!) and it was love at first use. No matter how bad my hands feel at the end of the day they are back to normal by the morning when I use this stuff. I keep a spare tube in reserve and even have a mini to carry around during the day!

What do you keep beside your bed?
