This is a new series of posts where I look at my three favourite products of a certain kind. Today, I am looking at the classic everyday pink lip.
Day to day there is nothing I like better than a no-fuss pink lip. I've mentioned before that I don't like a long lasting or matte formula for everyday because I work long hours and can't always keep them as maintained as they need to be. Because of this I own a large rotation of pinky-coraly colours in sheer or creamy formulas. and very rarely wear anything different.
The first on my list is the Revlon Lacquer Balm in Coquette, this is a lovely bright pink, it is quite a sheer finish but it is very well pigmented so it gives a nice flush of colour. I like this as a really simple option, you barely need a mirror to apply it and it wears off evenly. Perfect for a no-fuss day when you still want a little bit of colour.
My most-used lip product of recent times is the Soap & Glory Gloss Stick in Bashful, this is a fantastic coraly-pink gloss in the popular crayon format. It isn't massively pigmented but the colour that it gives is beautiful, light and bright with a nice shine without being sticky. It is obvious you are wearing a lip product as it is so glossy, but you could get away with it for a no-makeup-makeup-day as the colour is so neutral, you would have to be trying really hard to get it to clash with anything.
The newest addition to my collection is the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in Rose Millesime (not to be confused with the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks, this is much less matte and much more creamy). This is about as heavy as I would tend to go for day-to-day use, but boy is it a beautiful colour! It's a little bit darker than my other picks, almost more of a reddy-pink. It applies very smooth and creamy and compliments my pale skin perfectly. I don't know why I hadn't looked at these lipsticks before, but I will definitely go back and swatch a few more now.
What is your favourite pink lipstick?
